| There is a minor risk of hypopigmentation, where the treated area appears paler than the surrounding skin tone. Once all treatments are completed, this tends to resolve within six to twelve months. However in some cases this may take several years, and in very rare cases may result in permanent loss of natural pigmentation. Occasionally, a small amount of residual ink may be present in an area following your treatment course. This generally occurs in the removal of varied coloured tattoos. This is due to some colours of ink not absorbing set laser wavelengths, therefore the ink is not fragmented well. Such colours tend to be fluorescent types such as yellow and white. Infection of the site or not caring for the site correctly between treatments may , in some cases, lead to permanent scarring of the area, although this is unlikely. In most cases, the skin returns completely back to normal leaving no visible traces of ink or uneven skin tone. |
